“Romantic!”
This is such a romantic piece - as you might expect from the title! It's sad but sumptuous with a simple accompaniment supporting the meandering of the two flutes which operate mainly in in thirds and sixths. There is a welcome change to the major which feels like a happy distant memory before the sadness returns. Lovely to play and lovely to listen to even if there are some tears at the end!
