If you thought that an alarm clock was useful only for waking you up, think again - Dehnhard’s piece will open up a whole new world of timeless possibilities! There are many advantages here: it's improvisational so you can tailor this to your own abilities, the notation is conventional and the alarm clock keeps you in time! The rhythm is strangely catchy - almost singable in a funny way, and stays with you. It's also a novelty item which would certainly add an extra dimension to a recital. Don't forget to credit the clock at the end though - see video!
Please feel free to regard this piece as an improvisational mainframe for your own performance version. The main objective is to stay in time, i.e. not to lose the alarm clock's rhythm. Repeat the patterns ad lib and invent new ones. Groove away and have fun!
