It's rare that music written for a large group of flutes really conveys the nature of its title, but this wonderfully evocative piece does just that. The opening of 'Great Barrier Reef' has a slow buildup of low sonorities which transports you under the water with the later interjections from the higher instruments appearing like darting fish. Energy and movement characterises Celtic Sea wth dolphins, birds and sail boats all tumbling over the waves. Expensive but almost as good as going to Australia to see it all for yourself!
