The Autumn song, subtitled 'October' is from the Seasons Op 37. This is a collection of 12 pieces each evoking a month of the year. The romantic and delicate atmosphere of 'Nocturne' as well as the subtleties typical of Russian lyricism of the Autumn Song make these two works easy to adapt for at trio combination. The instrumental parts have been elaborated to add interest.
