Mozart's duets K 487 were originally written for two horns so the darker colour of the alto flute really works in these excellent arrangements. They are delightful short vignettes with practical uses. They are great for beginner alto players, a group of several would make excellent concert material and they would be perfect for amateur get-togethers. Lovely to play and great to listen to!
Twelve Duets, K. 487, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, arranged for C Flute and Alto Flute by Jeffrey Beyer. The Twelve Duets were originally composed for Horn by Mozart in 1786 in Vienna, Austria. Believed to be composed for his good friend, Ignace Leitgeb, here they have been adapted for flute and alto flute duet by Jeffrey Beyer.
