This is fantasy in the grand traditional of challenging works based around familiar themes from grand opera. This is a contemporary work however, and Jurgan Frantz uses the now extended range of the flute to great effect. All the main tunes here, mostly highly decorated, except for the iconic Nessum Dorma which remains almost intact until the virtuoso end. A really worthwhile challenge, it's guaranteed to bring the house down!
This “Turandot Fantasy” contains some of the most beautiful arias from the opera of the same name by Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924). Some of the themes are executed in the style of “musical fantasy” with flute variations and are thus in the tradition of this instrumental genre.
