For the exceptional trumpeter Dominic Derasse, Ewazen has composed a three-movement concert work, with inspiration from three paintings at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. Originally written for piccolo trumpet and orchestra, Trois Peintures is available here in a piano reduction.
