After his training at the Budapest State University of Music, Alexander Jemnitz (1890-1963) continued his studies in Leipzig with Reger and Straube. After a time as a theater conductor, he lived in Berlin from 1917 to 1921, where he became a student of Schönberg and devoted himself to his teaching and music writing activities. He returned to Budapest and took up an important position here.
