Not least through his two oboe quartets (BP 2804 | BP 2805), the top-class composer and oboe virtuoso Friedrich Eugen Thurner has meanwhile re-entered the consciousness of today's busy generation of oboists.
The new edition of his original Trio op. 56 for oboe and 2 horns should be all the more welcome, a unique work for this instrumentation!
