Ludwig Milde (1849-1913) studied bassoon, composition and composition at the Prague Conservatory. He later worked as a solo bassoonist and teacher in his hometown. Through his works and studies he is considered to be the main representative of the Prague bassoon school.
The present three studies for bassoon and piano are effective practice and performance pieces. The connecting element of the popular small collection is the calm tempo and the cantilever style of the solo instrument, which gradually develops into a dialogue with the piano accompaniment.
