The Three Pastiche Pieces were written for a young pupil. Composed in a tuneful and light style they pay their musical respects to the early jazz era. The opening tune, an elegant cakewalk is followed by a melancholy sweet ballad and the set concludes with a jaunty upbeat number suggestive of a jam session.
