“A sultry quartet!”
The performance direction here is 'sultry, slinky' and that really sums up the style of this excellent quartet. The first flute has the tango melody (it's all big leaps and long notes), parts 2 and 3 have mostly off beat interjections and the bass flute holds it all together. Marvellous!
