This transcription is by no means a mere adaptation of the original flute cantilena. Korody-Kreutzer intended to recreate the spirit of the original with a no less expressive instrument, namely the clarinet. The target group is advanced clarinet players. The piece is not easy to interpret because of its difficult realization of expression.
