“If you'd like a challenge......”
These duets are a technical challenge! The three fast movements and one slow one all use the full range of the instruments to mainly virtuoso effect which is fun! Atonal they maybe but there is a tuneful feel to the writing with rhythms that are simply constructed. Each would easily stand alone which is probably just as well!
First Edition of this suite of flute duets, composed in 1990 near the end of Papandopulo's life, has been edited by renowned flautist Ana Domančić Krstulović, who worked and collaborated with the composer. The four atonal movements are full of good humour and will offer a rewarding experience for professional and advanced flute players.

Difficulty level, roughly compared to ABRSM exam grades. 0 is total beginner, 9 is advanced (beyond grade 8).
