If you are lucky enough to have an alto flute and are just starting to get to grips with contemporary music this effective work is a great place to start. It's atmospheric, casting a spell over the listener with fluid low writing which is given space to breathe. Note bends and flutter-tonguing add to the textural mix. Pitched at just the right level to engage the intermediate level performer, this very lovely piece has something to offer almost everyone.
