Gottschalk is considered by many to be one of the most important American composers of the 19th century. This arrangement is one of Gottschalk's most popular Caribbean-influenced piano pieces scored for piccolo, 2 C flutes, one alto and one bass flute. It may be performed effectively by either a quintet or by a flute choir.
