There is an element of romance in the three movements of this piece in which the flute & violin melodies entwine, and in the last movement – ‘Aubade’, birdsong can be heard as dawn breaks. These would be good concert pieces for more advanced players.

Songs of the Night received and Honourable Mention in the Newly Composed Music Competition at the 2019 NFA.
