“Lovely new music!”
It's great to find a piece of new music of a medium level of difficulty that will appeal to everyone. The style is tuneful! The opening movement flows along, stretching the range from low C sharp to a top B flat but without too much stress in the learning. It also changes speeds too adding more character. The slow movement is simpler but uses five flats in the outer sections and the closing Allegro is pitched exactly right for a rousing but not too difficult conclusion. If you're looking for a change from exam music and want something different but approachable this would be a very good place to start!
An intermediate level three-movement piece by Rocherolle, a composer of pedagogical piano works widely used by students and teachers.
