"Soave sia il vento" (Gentle be the breeze) is sung by Fiordiligi, Dorabella and Don Alfonso in Act I of the opera, as the two lovers depart to war and are sent on their way. The rippling semiquaver accompaniment is passed seamlessly between the flutes, giving everyone a chance to enjoy the expressive trio melody.
