This one is not for the faint-hearted! It's a challenge rhyhmically, technically and for the ensemble but it's quirky style reflects the title extremely well. These angels really dance and they also fly about! This is captured through the virtuosity of the writing which uses all the instruments to their maximum potential. The one moment of repose has cadenza-like passages passed around between flute 1 and bass, and this briefly makes a return just before the end.Otherwise it''s helter-skelter all the way! Six good players will love it!
