With the composition "Jahreszeiten" (Seasons) for solo flute, the composer, painter and flutist Friedrich Leufgen establishes a link between music and painting. Starting with spring symbolizing a new beginning in nature, the composer develops atmospheric moments depicting the various seasons. Reproductions of the original acrylic paintings are enclosed in this note edition and can help stimulate certain associations while playing the pieces.
