The work was premiered on New Year's Eve 1983 by the Freiburg Baroque Soloists in the Freiburg Department Store Hall, to whom it is also dedicated. The piece contrasts with extreme positions, clear lines and contours, arabesque reflections and abrupt pauses. A virtuoso piece with many timbres.
