“Simply Set and Effective”
This arrangement of Scarborough Fair is simply set with the melody divided between the parts and some unusual harmonies. It is not rhythmically complex so the three flats become less daunting for younger players. The optional fourth flute does have some independence but mostly shadows the other parts. It is also a sadder rendition than other arrangements of this piece, so it will make a good contrast to most of the repertoire at this level.
