Theodor W. Stepanov's (1866-1914) pedagogical legacy and in particular his scales, chords and arpeggios influenced Russian performance practice well into the Soviet era. This work was also sold in large numbers in Germany until the Second World War. In the 1960s, the edition was reissued at the request of the Vienna Music Academy and renowned flautists. The scales are arranged in an easy way for beginners and are therefore ideal for teaching today, as they did back then. A timeless exercise for aspiring flautists!
