These two arrangements by Maxence Larrieu make a very welcome addition to the music of Hahn for the flute. The Romance is a whimsical piece with a fetching tune over a moving accompaniment. The middle section in A minor becomes more serious but the return of A major takes us nicely home. The end is lovely. The Nocturne is more enigmatic and the flute writing more florid. These pieces are beautiful.
