There are many pieces for flute ensemble which now include vocal colour and this starts atmospherically with exactly that! 'icha', 'ft' and 't' add a percussive feel to the insistant rumba rhythms which emerge from this opening and develop into a piece which should be great fun to play. The only other technique required is fluttertonguing and the overall effect is of a dance piece that really delivers in a short space of time. The composer also suggest that it might be possible to develop this still further by the addition of improvised guitar and percussion parts which makes it extremely useful in an educational setting. Definitely worth a look.
