Each of these four lovely pieces is gentle and tuneful. Simply written, the flute meanders gracefully over supportive accompaniments which creates a feeling of calm and peacefulness. They are really laid-back so it's good that each one would stand alone. Comfort music!
Quattro Canzoni for flute and piano is an expressive and sometimes introspective work, always lyrical, and reminiscent of 19th century salon music. Written in 1984, this early composition is dedicated to Scott Borrelli. Performance time is 14 minutes.
