Sax Trio Soprano/Alto, Alto, Tenor. Four charming little character pieces, titled Ballade, Dans le bois, Reve and Scherzo. Displaying a lot of the characteristics of French romantic music - sweeping phrases, lush harmony and many tempo variations. The Scherzo in particular needs neat fingers and quick tonguing from the two upper parts which use almost the complete range of the instrument. The tenor part is easier, but needs musical playing for maximum effect.
