This is a simply fabulous piece! In C minor, it is full of Spanish passion with a beautiful opening melody over brooding chords before the music opens out into a dramatic cadenza. The Waltz section is lighter and this is followed by a tango charcterised by chromatic scales. The closing coda is very dark and atmospheric. All this and only grade 6? You bet!
