It's great to have these two pieces in one volume as they complement each other so well. The more familiar Pan Pastorale is classic Donjon with a beautiful melody over a simple accompaniment. Pipeaux is impishly playful with running passagework written to highlight the agility of the flute. It's just lovely and a must for all lovers of French flute music!
