This book is packed full of orchestral repertoire for both flute and piccolo. Each of the extracts is quite short but the solo is always expertly chosen. The supporting flutes will really get to know the orchestral context from the accompanying parts, as well as increase their ensemble skills - these pieces are not easy. The range of works is vast, spanning Gluck to Stravinsky and there are also 13 excerpts for piccolo. This is a very expensive book and produced in an old-fashioned way, but it will repay you for as long as you ask it!
