The name Salomon Jadassohn is not overly familiar to flute players as he was pianist by trade but he certainly knew how to write for us. This original piece makes uses of the flute's ability to decorate a simple melody with sweeping lyrical phrases in a manner that Taffanel would recognize. The middle section is slightly darker and more animated to effect a lovely contrast before the piece ends as beautifully as it began. A must for all lovers of wonderful flute music!
