Walter Girnatis (1894-1981) worked as an acting bandmaster and, from 1928, as program director at Hamburger Rundfunk, where he remained employed until his retirement. Among other things, he has written film and theater music and a lot of performance music for home, school and music clubs. His “Nocturnes” are effective and melodious.
