“Mostly gentle music from Gary Schocker!”
This is a lovely work which is full of contrasts without ever losing its wistful undertones. 'Improvsation' opens and closes with the freedom you would expext from the title and the faster central section uses the higher register to gain its energy. The 'Pensieroso' meanders beautifully enticing the flute to make its most beguiling sound, and the final Friendly Ghost Mostly is more rhythmic and playful. If you're lucky enough to have a friendly guitarist to hand grab this now!
