“A delightful book for young (and not so young!) children”
This wonderfully colourful book is sure to attract the interest of any young child. The concept is simple - each superbly illustrated page has some text to read and tracks to listen to! There is a massive amount of information here though, with details of 7 well-chosen composers and most instruments. There are also questions and listening exercises to supplement the material. The 'When, Where?'' section is very important in introducing the concept of music all around us - so many children think that 'classical music' is something out of their realm of experience. This is a book that you can return to many times over. Its presentation will engage the really young who can relate to the pictures and the CD. It will also appeal to the 7-9s who will be able to fully engage with the text, and it will also prove useful for those slightly older pupils who need basic gaps in their musical knowledge filled quickly and painlessly! At this price, this is a steal!
Learn where you hear music, who writes it and what the instruments sound like and hear it all on the CD!
and many, many more.......
This book is aimed at 5-7 year olds and forms an excellent resource for the music teacher.
