This piece is one of Grieg's most famous works, and comes from the first Peer Gynt suite. It is a song to the morning in 6/8, using notes from the pentatonic scale. This arrangement features broad, warm tones on the lower clarinets, and high trills on the Eb clarinet to represent birdsong.
