These two short pieces by the renowned pairing of Gerard Meunier and Jean-Claude Diot are quite delightful. The piano writing gives the Tango an authentic feel to add to the simple flute part which uses only crotchets and a couple of minims. The Valse Lente has more notes and here the flute has the melody over a standard waltz accompaniment. Youngsters will really enjoy performing these as they are very intelligently written and lovely to play.
