Here is a really good piece for those 'in between exam' times. An evocative opening takes us straight to Ali Baba's cave, the opening piano tremolos setting the scene. The flute then has a 'snake charmer' melody situated in the middle of the flute with an easy rhythm but in four flats. This is an ideal way to learn how to play in F minor. There is so much that can be gained from playing this as breathing and tone quality will be needed to maintain the mystery of the music. It's a great concert piece - everyone will love it!
