This is a very laid-back Latin-style piece named after a boat and originally written for a jazz quintet. It has some unusual close harmonies and not surprisingly a very lazy type of rhythmic writing. The first flute part is trickier than the others, there is an alternative 4th part instead of alto and the recommended string bass part would be a luxury well worth having if you can. Altogether it's not quite what you might expect and all the better for it.
Named for a 36-foot Mariner Trader trawler, this is in a light Bossa Nova style and is great fun to perform.
