Joy to the World: Meditation and Celebration for Saxophone Quartet features a two-part arrangement of this classic Christmas carol. The first half - the Mediation - features a quiet, ethereal treatment of the song in 3/4 time. At times the melody is expanded; at times there is a hint of it. Following a transition, the Celebration features a joyously jazzy version of the song in 5/4 and 3/4 time with plenty of counterpoint between the saxophones. This arrangement is a wonderful addition to your Christmas programme and also wonderful as a closing piece.
