This has to be a contender for one of the best quartets around at the moment. Bozza has crafted this really well, using colour, flexibility of tempo and virtuosity to captivate both players and audiences. The last movement, Ronde, is the best place to start, followed by the opening Pastorale. Au bord du torrent flies past in a flurry of chromatic scales and the enigmatic Le chant des forets is the trickiest for ensemble. Yes, it's really expensive but it's an absolute winner which you'll turn to time after time - you definitely won't regret spending the money.
