For the ensemble Wild Shore New Music, Lias has adapted the third movement of his Range of Light, an extended work for alto saxophone and piano from his National Parks Series. Jeffrey Pine is now scored for Pierrot Ensemble and, as inspired by the Ansel Adams photo, reflects "an aching sense of stasis, patience, and sadness." (Lias)
