When I stayed at the Belles Rives Hotel in Juan les Pins near Cannes, I was impressed by the Art Deco style of the hotel and the fact that famous musicians and writers stayed there when it was the holiday home of Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald. This is where Scott Fitzgerald wrote “The Great Gatsby” and “Tender is the Night” in the jazz age of the 1920s.
This inspired me to compose these short pieces.
