“Compelling!”
Like most works by the Slovenian composer Anze Rozman, there is an element of narrative here, should you wish to imagine one. What is certain is that it is a real work-out for all three performers! Colours are drawn from each one using a mix of opposing articulations, enigmatic harmonies, and changes of mood which migrate from hesitant to passionate and back again. Rozman worked with Hans Zimmer so there is a real dramatic contour to the pacing too and the whole package makes this a very compelling piece of music.
Anže Rozman's Inner Me for Flute, Violin, and Piano. Inner Me by Anze Rozman is a single-movement work for flute, violin and piano, composed for Trio Essenziale from Ljublana, Slovenia. It begins with the statement of eight chords in the piano, followed by a steady flow of sextuplets passing between the flute and violin throughout.
