This short piece (three and a half minutes) is unusual as it isn't often that contemporary music seems approachable to players who do not generally feel at home in the genre. The performance directions are clear and all the modern techniques work. Yes the rhythms will challenge and it is still difficult to really feel at home here but the overall result is worth the effort. Gentle and soothing melodies are in short supply with the emphasis on rhythmic energy and tonal variety. It's really good - try it for yourself and see!
