Horizons for two flutes and piano is a work composed in the summer of 2017 on commission. In writing I was inspired above all by the peculiar combination of two identical instruments, strongly interwoven, but also taking up a msuical dialogue and creating - in a duo - a counterweight for the piano part, in which resonance and reverberation are of key significance. Sonic lines, circles and spirals form a multi-segmented narrative of diverse expression.
