As many wind quintet enthusiasts will know, there are very few works in the repertory that are geared towards children's Demonstration or Family concerts and even fewer that incorporate a story telling element. This arrangement is an attempt to fill this gap and provide a possible centrepiece for these sort of concerts.
Each instrument is highlighted at least once in the course of the work, with various other simple musical pointers included from time to time to help focus the listener's attention.
Ideally a sixth person should be involved to act a narrator. Alternatively, it would be possible for one (or more) of the players to narrate.
