With the Great Russian Fantasy for flute and piano, Opus 22, Büchner presents us with a highly catchy bravura piece and virtuoso fireworks. It is difficult to understand why the piece and Büchner's flute works in general had been forgotten for so long. The first print, on which this new edition is based, was published in 1893 by Julius Heinrich Zimmermann in Leipzig.
