Mel Orriss at Wonderful Winds is very skillful and she just instictively knows how to voice her arrangements. This version of The Great Escape March is a great example. It's successful on several fronts. Firstly, everyone across the generations knows this tune. Secondly, the parts for the alto and bass are straightforward, giving inexperienced low flute players the chance to get to know their instruments without too much stress. Thirdly, part 3 is also easier so it's suitable for a larger range of abilities. The piccolo parts, whilst adding colour, are not essential and the whole piece works 'wonderfully'. Don't hesitate - buy now!
A big fun arrangement for flute choir of the famous film tune. As well as being thoroughly enjoyable to play and listen to, this piece gives a good opportunity for players to learn about playing in 2/2, and to experiment with their trill fingerings.
