The Gran Vals by Francisco Tárrega, while being a gentle and fairly simple waltz, has achieved the distinction of being the most oft-heard piece of music ever written. At its peak, a four-measure excerpt from this work was being heard nearly 1.8 billion times per day, or 20,000 times per second.
